Bob Margolin, at this point in a long career, stands with one foot at the top of the Blues World and the other kicking open the door of Americana Music.

His 2016 breakthrough album “My Road,” has already won 2 Blues Blast Magazine awards: Best Traditional Blues Album and Best Traditional Male Blues Artist for Bob. He is now nominated for 3 Blues Music Awards, in those same categories but for Best Instrumentalist guitar as well. Bob already has two of those Guitar Awards. “My Road” is crafted of mostly original songs from Bob’s life as a Bluesman, features his small band for raw, powerful sound, and is considered in reviews and “best of” lists to be a major step forward. Most telling is that the audiences at Bob’s Blues gigs receive him enthusiastically and take the opportunity to meet Bob and buy signed copies of My Road until it’s time to play the second set.

Bob is now discovered by Americana fans as well. Muddy Waters Brought Bob to the 1976 Last Waltz movie. In 2016 and 2017, bob has been a featured guest on Blackbird Productions’ Last Waltz 40 Tour, not just representing Muddy’s songs but entertaining and impressing the audiences in large venues around the country. It is not easy to stand out among legendary artists Warren Haynes, Don Was, Michael McDonald, Jamie Johnson, Ivan and Cyril Neville, Joan Osborne, and Dave Malone.
